Other Writing

Beyond my academic work, I’ve written an awful lot over the years, for a variety of platforms. These have ranged from a blog on my Year Abroad in France as an undergraduate, to a personal blog at the start of my PhD, to my more recent work managing the Centre for Medieval Studies blog here at Exeter.

One of my reasons for making this site has been to bring all of these pieces of writing together one place that I can manage, as link rot starts to make itself felt across various blog platforms and websites. This page may well therefore be of less interest to you, but if you’re genuinely interested in my opinions on the SNCF, circa 2013, or my 2020 writing on teaching Walter de Bibbesworth’s Tretiz via Zoom, do take a look around.

An important note: these blog posts are largely unedited from when they were first published. I’ve done my best to fix (or just remove) broken links, but more generally, I’d strongly advise against using any of these pages as advice (particularly important when discussing, for instance, the structure of undergraduate courses from over a decade ago).
